Careers
We hire rarely, and slowly
We would rather know who you are before there is a vacancy than advertise into a hurry later. Anything open is listed below.
Open Roles
Each role is one file. If nothing is listed, nothing is open. We would rather say so than leave a stale advert up.
Nothing open right now. The section below is still the honest answer, and the door at the bottom of the page is not decorative.
What the work is
Small team, unusually senior problems
An honest description, so you can rule us out quickly if it is not for you.
You will talk to clients
There is no account manager between you and the person whose numbers do not add up. Most of the difficulty in this work is agreeing what a metric means, and that is a conversation, not a query.
The brief is usually wrong at first
People ask for a dashboard when the problem is three systems that disagree. Being useful here means noticing that and saying so, early, to someone who did not ask for your opinion.
You are building something to hand over
We aim to become unnecessary to a client, which means documentation and tests are the deliverable rather than an afterthought. If that sounds like a chore rather than the interesting part, this will frustrate you.
Small means small
No graduate scheme, no bench, no internal platform team to escalate to. That suits some people enormously and suits others not at all, and both reactions are reasonable.
Who tends to do well here
Not a checklist of technologies. Those are learnable; these are less so.
Comfortable being wrong out loud
The fastest route to a correct number is saying the incorrect one early, where somebody can correct it.
Cost-aware by instinct
Every architecture decision has a running cost. Noticing that while designing rather than when the invoice lands is most of the skill.
Writes things down
Undocumented work is work we will do again. Clear writing is a technical skill here, not a soft one.
Next step
No vacancy, but the door is open
Send us what you have built and what you would rather never build again. We read everything, we reply, and we will tell you plainly if there is nothing coming.
Thirty minutes, straight to the problem. No deck, no pitch, and a written summary afterwards either way.
