Challenge
The firm was running Tableau Server on aging hardware. Licensing, hardware refresh cycles, and a small team dedicated to keeping the lights on cost more each year, with nothing to show for it strategically. Solution
Before moving a single workbook, we audited usage patterns across all sites, flagging what was actively used, what was stale, and what needed rearchitecting. Then we ran a controlled parallel environment for 4 weeks, letting power users validate outputs before cutover. Audit of 900 workbooks, 38% flagged as stale or unused. Results
Within 90 days of cutover, the firm had decommissioned on-prem servers. The ops team was redeployed.
